The soccer experiment is done : The Shark Dragons

Ethan has completed his first season of soccer. Well, to be fair it wasn't anything too intense. It's a program set up by the local YMCA to expose kids to the sport. they practice one day a week and play one game on the weekend. I think it's a good program-- not only for busy kids, but for busy parents. It prevents all that after-school hustle and bustle with homework, dinner, showers and sleep. Kids at this age are sponges. They'll soak up all the information that they can get. But not all children have focus, drive or competitiveness that they really need for the sport. For them, it's really just structured play time-- which is completely fine. BTW- Shark Dragons was the name that that kids chose for their team. There was also team called Candy Crush..lol

     I don't think I'll get yelled at by too many people for this.. But I decided to take my Camera Completely apart to fix a problem inside. OK, relax -- It was my dad's 20 year old  EOS 630. Retro Review: Mamiya/Sekor 500DTL

 So, since diving into the world of Photography, .. I've heard of this extravagant expensive pieces of machinery that take Amazing photos.     They're usually reserved for fashion and product,  photographers. They're called medium Format cameras.  I won't be reviewing one of those things today -sorry. But, I'll get pretty close.      A friend of mine kept telling me about this camera that she had collecting dust in a closet somewhere. So, Naturally  - as a fan of Pawn Stars and American Pickers-- I had my hopes really high for something cool and unique. When she finally got around to bring this camera kit around... The Underground Railroad: Stories of Victory from Tragedy

    I've always been intrigued by the mystery of the Underground Railroad. Like the black inventors I featured earlier this week, these are stories of people who beat the odds stacked against them to reach a goal- their freedom. They all risked their lives for freedom, preferring almost certain death and a chance to be free over slavery. Some cases were more extreme than others.. traveling in shipping boxes to safe houses on the UGRR.        A lot of those travels were documented in the account of The Underground Railroad Records. These are not sad stories.
