End of the Year Party -(the forgotten images)

Image
So, every once and a while, I forget to upload/process/ post pictures that i've taken. It's a combination of being too busy and forgetting. Whatever... no excuses. Ethan's been out of school for a couple of weeks now. So here we go. This is the party that his school threw for the first and second graders on the last week of school. They danced, played games, ate food, played more games.

Ethan's First Baseball game- The newest Durham Bulls fan

Image
So, I took Ethan to his first Durham Bulls game this week -- thanks to some great tickets from work. It was quite the school night for this little six year old.      We had seats almost right behind third base.. and right in front of the warm up area for the relief pitchers. We got to the stadium a little late... and of course-- we missed almost all of the action. we got there about an hour into the game at the top of the third inning. Bulls -10 Braves- 0.     Yes, 10 runs scored before we even stepped foot inside, and Ethan was still bugging me to get something to eat. So we did during one of the intermissions. I thought it'd be good to give the crowd a break from Ethan's dancing. On the way back we picked up a number one finger.. and as we were walking out of the door.. in walks Wool-E-Bull. No line, no wait... EJ gets the mascot to sign his finger. awesome moment.

BEST SHOTS OF THE FIRST 5

So I guess Should explain this.. Five days with this Camera and not too many complaints. The learning curve on this thing is not that steep. Of course I'm a fast learner. We're all fast learners when its something we love. as you can see I've taken over 300 shots and there are a few that I personally like.

13 1/2 days with a Canon Camera

Image
So begins my two week journey with a mid-high class camera. You might think I'm crazy ( i kinda think I'm crazy), But, tomorrow, I am going to purchase a new camera. from a certain electronics store giant. and i plan to only own it for 13 and 1/2 days. I'm sure you know why... After that I own it period. I've always loved Photography. My first camera was small thin and blue. It had one of those disposable flashes that only had about 10 flashes per cartridge. The thing smelled like a cap-gun after each flash. I thought i was doing something.. although most of those early pictures were of my finger, the sky, or really really close on my sister.     Since then I've had a number of point and shoot film cameras that got the job done. But I really always loved using my dad's camera. The Canon EOS 630. Yes its an SLR, but no it's not digital. it's heavy, clunky and needs a HUGE external flash in low light... But, man, there is just something great about the fi...

a morning through my son's eyes

I'm not sure what the world looks like through my son's eyes, sometimes,.. but i'm but every once and a while he gets a hold of my camera and gives me a little glimpse...

Why would I do that? -Go to the zoo?

Image
Yesterday, I took a trip with my son to the Bronx zoo (if you can't tell from all the picture uploaded.) I'm still recovering. Sorry about the overkill on pictures. but we really had a great time. When I found out that His pre-school was going to the zoo, it was a no-brainer. We were definitely going. My crazy work schedule has a lot of advantages. Being able to hang with EJ is one of them. Because I clock off before most people have their second cup of coffee, I can do whatever I want with the rest of my day... which usually starts with eating then sleeping. But not on this day. I would sacrifice that sleep part to spend some QT with EJ. So, starting off right after work, I was surprisingly awake. I don't know if I was anxious or excited, but I didn't sleep a wink on the way to the zoo. Probably better off because I avoided the post-nap attitude. Anyway the trip was shorter than I expected. The 30 or so kid s were very well-behaved, and th...
