The future Camera & Pork flavored doughnuts

Just a few things I noticed today that have nothing to do with each other.

It appears heart scientists have come up with a new camera technique allowing you and Me to shoot video and still images at the same time and with the same camera... No you don't have to switch to video mode and ask for a replay. If you understand it here's the info from the Nature Methods article http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/nmeth.1429.(<-- i don't get it) Here are the specs. The Video Mode shoots in 400 fps, Frames per second. 400.. to give a comparison regular cameras shoot in the range of 24 -30 fps, ... this is 1000 fps. just for fun, (i like to see things burn.) So, take a look at the pictures and video below from this thing... not that impressive. I guess you have to take into account these are heart doctors who are used to viewing their surgeries in black and white, while the rest of the world is in techno-color. Oh and its also supposed to be cheaper.

So i still want to see this thing go up against a camera like this... is it even in the same ballpark?
Pentax | Pentax K-x Digital SLR with 18-55mm Zoom Lens | 16302

and in other unrelated news...

pork flavored doughnuts...in China!!! really!, click the link.
and they also have toppings including ham and cheese, red spaghetti sauce, salmon, spicy beef and seaweed flakes. i guess the Chinese never warmed up to the sweet, fried, glazed, doughy goodness that made homer Simpson so lovable.
